Nigeria’s Super Eagles suffered a massive drop in the monthly Coca-Cola FIFA World ranking released on Thursday, with Nigeria dropping seven places in the global ranking.
Nigeria was ranked 52nd in October, but has dropped to 59th in the latest ranking, moving in the downward trend to 12 position on the continent, which is the worse movement in the history of Nigeria’s record in the FIFA ranking.
In the month under review, the Sunday Oliseh led Super Eagles lost 2-0 to DR Congo in an international friendly before beating Cameroon 3-0 all in Brussels, Belgium.
Cote d’Ivoire took over the number one spot from Algeria in the Africa placing, Algeria now occupy second position, Ghana’s Black Stars (30 in the world) are third in Africa, Capa Verde are fourth, Senegal occupy fifth position on the continent, Tunisia placed sixth, while Cameroon are seventh.
