Nigeria Owes Construction Companies N600 Billion

President, Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI), Solomon Ogunbusola, has said that the federal government owes the sum of N600billion to construction firms.
Ogunbusola said the situation has caused a delay in delivery of construction jobs across the federation and has ultimately put the construction industry in a very bad shape to the extent that construction companies are now being forced to sack employees due to their inability to cater for them.
“The Federal Ministry of Works alone is owing our members N500 billion and one company is owed over N70 billion. The records are there. We cannot keep quiet or hide any longer,” he said.

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is Nigeria’s hope for progress and the change that is widely expected by all Nigerians.

Nine years after suffering from on and off illness that started after collapsing on the altar of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN)- Mark Adu is dead.

CBN Directs Banks To Publish Serial Debtors’ Names From Aug 1

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Thursday directed all Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) operating in the country to commence the publication of the names of chronic debtors from August 1.

The Director, Banking Supervision Department, CBN, Mrs. Tokunbo Martins, stated this while briefing journalists shortly after the 322nd Bankers’ Committee meeting, which was held at the central bank’s headquarters in Abuja. She was accompanied to the briefing by the Managing Director, United Bank for Africa Plc, Mr. Phillips Odouza; Managing Director, Unity Bank Plc, Mr. Henry Semenitari; and Managing Director, Ecobank Plc, Mr. Jubril Aku.

Gbajabiamila Disgraced, As Yakubu Dogara Emerges House Of Reps Speaker

Members of the House of Representatives have elected Yakubu Dogara, who represents Bogoro/ Tafawa Balewa federal constituency in Bauchi state, as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly.
Mr. Dogara defeated Femi Gbajabiamila, who represents Surulere federal constituency, Lagos state, in a keenly contested election.
Mr. Dogara scored 182 votes while Mr. Ggajabiamila polled 174.
Mr. Dogara is emerging the speaker against the wish of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, which had on Saturday conducted a mock election to choose Mr. Gbajabiamila as the party’s official candidate.
