Protesters Storm N’Assembly, Demand Saraki’s Resignation

A coalition of various Civil Society Organisations under the aegis of Citizens United for Peace and Stability, on Tuesday, stormed the premises of the National Assembly, demanding the immediate resignation of embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The activities of the protesters numbering over 200 caused a serious gridlock as they forced the security operatives of the federal parliament to close the main gate from about noon till the time of filing this report.
The protesters, who arrived at the National Assembly complex with mats and foams, sat on the floor outside the main gate, chanting solidarity songs, not minding the scorching sun.
Our correspondent observed that the protesters underscored the seriousness of their mission as they had mobilised generators, cooking utensils and mobile toilets to the National Assembly.
The anti-Saraki agitators pledged to occupy the complex until their demands were met, vowing to ensure that the situation persisted till Thursday (tomorrow).

PDP Spokesperson, Olisa Metuh Slumps In Abuja, Rushed To National Hospital

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday slumped and was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, for medical attention.
Metuh was said to have slipped off a swivel chair and landed on his waist. He was about taking his seat when the chair rolled backward, causing him to miss the seat.
The impact of the fall kept Metuh writhing in pain, as he was helped out of the National Working Committee hall, venue of inauguration ceremony of the Borno and Kebbi states caretaker committees of the PDP.
Apparently having sprained his waist, two policemen had to practically carry him out of the party secretariat into a waiting car to the hospital.

Lil Kesh Flaunts New Record Label ‘YAGI” Says YBNL Is Family

Over the weekend, it was reported that Lil Kesh is set to part ways with Olamide’s record label ‘YBNL’ as his two year contract with the label had expired.
Apparently it turned out to be true as Lil Kesh is floating a label of his own named ‘YAGI’ Records and there is no bad blood between him and his former boss.
Lil Kesh just confirmed that although the YAGI Record Label rumour is true, YBNL remains his family and management for life.

Leadership Crisis Hits Unity Bank! Reason Behind The Sack Of Over 170 Workers

The popular saying: “when two or more elephants fight, the grass suffers most” has been the case of leadership tussle that is presently rocking one of Nigeria financial institutions, Unity bank Plc.
It no news that Unity Bank announced the disengagement of over 170 workers, stating that the move was part of efforts aimed at repositioning it for effective service delivery but information at our disposal has revealed the facts.

Ifeanyi Ubah Gets A 10match Ban For Assaulting Player

The League Management Company on Thursday placed a 10-match ban on the proprietor of FC IfeanyiUbah, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, for assaulting Heartland goalkeeper, Ebere Obi, after their Week 8 league match, which IfeanyiUbah won 1-0.
The league body in an earlier statement only reprimanded Ubah for fuelling the crowd disturbance that happened after the match. But in a later decision, which the LMC said was taken after the examination of video evidence from the match, Ubah was banned and fined the sum of N2.5m.

Lagos To Cancel Restriction During Sanitation

The Lagos State Government has revealed plans to cancel restriction during the monthly environmental sanitation in the state by the end of the year.
The Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Babatunde Adejare, stated this on Thursday at the monthly briefing of the ministry.
“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, in line with his responsive government, hopes to discontinue restriction during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise,” he said.
