The financial crisis engulfing Kaduna United seems not to be over despite the release of N24m by the Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, as the players refused to train and have threatened not to honour this weekend’s league match against Kogi United until the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Alhaji Balarabe Ibrahim explains how he spent the money released last week by the state government.
Speaking to Glo League Menu, one of the players, Linus Adams said they were given only two months salary and it was not all the players that got paid. All the money spent was not more than N3million, so where is the remaining N21million? Adams added: “We only collected two months salary because some of our Muslim brothers needed the money to celebrate Sallah with their families”.
