Lagos House Of Assembly Dashes Ambode’s Hope Over List Of Commissioners

Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode hope  to swear in members of his cabinet next Monday was dashed yesterday as the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly adjourned sitting till October 13 without screening the nominees.
Ambode last Monday sent a list of commissioner and special adviser-nominees to the House for screening.
However, against the norm, the house set up a 15-man committee that will screen the nominees.

Renowed Technocrat, Gamaliel Onosode Dies At 82

Renowned technocrat and former presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party of Nigeria. Gamaliel Onosode has died at the age of 82. According to a statement by the family, Onosode died in early hours of today September 29th.
According to Wikipedia:
Gamaliel Offoritsenere Onosode (born 22 May 1933) (Died 29 September 2015) is a Nigerian technocrat, administrator and a former presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party of Nigeria. Educated at the Government College, Ughelli and the University of Ibadan, he emerged in the 1970s, as one of Nigeria’s leading educated chief executives, when he was at the helm of NAL merchant bank of Nigeria. Over the years, he has risen to become a leading boardroom player in Nigeria’s corporate environment. He was also a former presidential adviser to President Shagari and a former president of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

18-Year Old Jeffrey Akoh Wins Season 8 Of Mtn Project Fame West Africa

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Jeffery Akoh beat five other contestants to emerge the winner of the eighth edition of MTN Project Fame West Africa.
A Sound Engineering graduate from the SAE Institute, Cape Town, the 18-year-old talented singer joins past winners like Iyanya, iMike, Ayoola, Chidinma, Monica, Olawale and Geoffrey.
Emerging the winner, Akoh received the grand prize of N5 million, an SUV and a recording contract.

Speaking at the opening of Oke-Ode Central Mosque in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, Ahmed also charged political leaders not to use youths for political violence “and other unsavoury acts as doing so can be likened to riding on the back of the proverbial tiger”.

Folly Coker, Steve Ayorinde, Anofi Elegushi, Others Make Gov. Ambode’s Cabinet List

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday presented the list of would-be cabinet members to the House of Assembly for screening.
The Clerk of the House, Mr. Ganiyu Abiru read the names on the floor to members.
The Governor is requesting for the screening and approval of 36 persons with 23 as Commissioners and 13 as Special Advisers.
Amongst the names are six former cabinet members from the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration including former commissioner for Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal, former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, former Special Adviser, Central Business District, Folarin Coker, former Special Adviser Commerce and Industry, Seye Oladejo, former Special Adviser Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ganiyu Johnson and former Special Adviser Rural Development, Babatunde Hunpe.
